'09 Kauweloa named to ILH first team

Track places 4th overall at States, Padron dominates 100m
5.18.09 - Damien placed fourth overall at the Island Movers/HHSAA State Track & Field Championships, highlighted by a dominating performance by Jonathan Padron in the 100m dash. Padron's time of 10.97 in the 100m final was a Kea'au track record. He also placed second in the 200m dash with a time of 22.44.

5.9.09 - Junior Jonathan Padron won the 100m dash (11.00), an event he won last year, and added the 200m (22.50) dash to his award tally at the 2009 ILH track and field championships. He also ran on the 4x100m relay team that placed 2nd.
O'Hare honored for 70 years of service
5.1.09 - Patrick O'Hare, a math teacher at Damien from 1968 to 1992, was honored this morning 70 years of service as a Christian Brothers monk. See the Honolulu Advertiser's coverage of the ceremony and a video clip on KHON2.
Nueku places 10th at ILH golf championships
4.23.09 - Congratulations to freshman Channning Nueku, who placed 10th at the Interscholastic League of Honolulu golf championship. Nueku, who shot a 2-over 74 in the final round held at Kapolei Golf Course, will also be representing Damien at the David S. Ishii Foundation/HHSAA State Championships scheduled for May 12-13 at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course on Maui.

Christian Brothers honored at annual lu'au

T.C. Foundation awards Damien $200,000 grant
3.6.09 - The Clarence T.C. Ching foundation presented Damien Memorial School with a $200,000 grant to help fund student scholarships.
